Naturae Reliquiae, why? How?
Naturae Reliquiae: the remains of nature
Naturae Reliquiae means “ the remains of nature ”, this comes straight from my fascination with nature and everything found there, in this case animals for which I feel an immense love.
Death is taboo and can have a negative image. Death is part of the circle of life and is completely normal. I want to embellish this aspect, and pay homage to nature and its beauty.
I love wearing elegant jewelry, so I combine them into a unique piece of jewelry imbued with history by giving a second life to these fascinating creatures that inhabit our lands.
As for the animals, they are found in the countryside and cleaned by me over several months or recovered second hand. Insects can be found or purchased from ethical French suppliers or second hand.
No animals/insects were killed to make these creations.
Behind Naturae Reliquiae ...
Hello, let me introduce myself, my name is Manon and I am the creator of Naturae Reliquiae ,
I am a tattoo artist by trade, I am 26 years old and I wanted to devote myself more to my passions which are taxidermy, osteology, entomology, quite simply nature and animals.
I particularly like art and history, my references are to different eras such as the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Victorian era, art nouveau...
Not finding jewelry to my taste by mixing all these passions, I therefore decided to create this own and unique universe.
To be continued...
I also present to you the assistants of Naturae Reliquiae, which is none other than... Bankise & Skjör, my two balls of fur who are an integral part of my life, my choices, my desires and my inspirations.
They both come from Reunion Island, adopted through an association. I am very involved in animal welfare and this is why my convictions with Naturae Reliquiae take on their full meaning.
